To
All Adorers,
This weekend is very special to all of us. But, we need your help and
support.
Eucharistic Miracles Exhibit and Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration
When we found out that our parish would be blessed with the Vatican
International Eucharistic Miracles Exhibit, we decided to have our
Annual Invitation to Eucharistic Adoration on the same weekend. I will
present a three minute invitational talk at all the weekend Masses, right
after a brief homily by the celebrant.
The Eucharistic Miracles Exhibit presents to us a wonderful opportunity to
reflect on Christ's presence in the Blessed Sacrament through the ages.
Many of these noted miracles occurred when certain priests had serious
doubts about His presence in the Eucharist. Through these documented
miracles He let all of us know that He is really present in the Most Blessed
Sacrament. Another special blessing of this weekend is that it is Divine
Mercy Sunday.
The Miracle of Christ’s Presence in Our Adoration Chapel
As you know, Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration in our parish is in itself
an ever present Eucharistic Miracle of Christ's presence in our midst. What
is special is that He is available to us twenty-four hours a day. Even on
Saturday's late hours - the chapel remains open for adorers to come and
adore Him, even though He is reposed in the Tabernacle during the late
weekend hours. There are adorers who do come during those hours. Our
annual invitation to Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration gives new parishioners
and others an opportunity to join us in adoring our Eucharistic Lord.
Need Adorers for Early Morning Hours and for Late Weekend Hours
While we have close to three hundred adorers, based on those listed in
the current adoration schedules, we find that of the four hourly divisions,
the most popular division is the evening hours, from 6:00 pm to 12:00
midnight. While we need adorers at all the twenty-four hours during the
seven days of the week, we especially need adorers for the early morning
hours, from 12:00 midnight to 6:00 am and for the late hours of Saturday
from 6:00 pm (after Saturday's evening Mass till 12:00 midnight and the
early Sunday morning hours from 12:00 midnight to 6:00 am.
Adoration Chapel Remains Open on Weekend Nights
The Blessed Sacrament is reposed in the Tabernacle right after
Saturday's 5:00 pm Mass. The adoration chapel remains open all weekend
nights. We have a number of adorers who come during these hours. We need
adorers who are willing to make a sacrifice and give of their time one hour
during these difficult hours. Those who choose to adore during one of these
hours, our Lord will reward them ten times more for their generosity. God
cannot be outdone in generosity. We pray that this weekend we will have new
adorers who will join us in adoring our Eucharistic Lord at any of the
twenty-four hours of the seven day week, especially during those difficult
hours of the early morning and of the weekend nights.
Volunteers for Eucharistic Miracles Exhibit and for the Annual Invitation
to Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration
Many of you have volunteered to help during the Eucharistic Miracles
Exhibit. Maria still needs more volunteers to cover all the hours of the
exhibit. She has sent out an email showing the hours where volunteers are
needed. You may contact her at mebarber (at) sbcglobal (dot)(net).
Tables for Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration Invitation Forms
We also need your help this weekend. We will have a table in the
community center with invitation forms to Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration.
We ask those of you who are volunteering for the Eucharistic Miracles
Exhibit to monitor the Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration invitation table
which will be located in the community center along with the exhibit.
Please submit all completed forms filled out in the community center to
either myself, Teresa G or Maria.
Volunteers Needed
We will also have a table set up in the courtyard for parishioners to
sign up for adoration. We have a number of volunteers who will be at this
table to answer questions on adoration and to monitor the submission of
completed adoration invitation forms. Those of you who can spend a
few minutes after your regular weekend Mass, please email me, letting me
know what Mass you will be able to help. You can reach me at
gvaldez(at)pdq(dot)(net). Your role is to be available at
either the courtyard table or the community center table and to answer
questions on adoration and handle the completed invitation forms. Completed
forms are to be submitted to me or to Teresa G.
We thank Maria and her helpers for making the Vatican International
Eucharistic Miracles Exhibit available to our parish this weekend. Let
this special blessing be an opportunity for us to renew our commitment to
our Eucharistic Lord and to inspire other parishioners to join us on our
spiritual journey.
The Mass — Church’s Supreme Act of Adoration
The more parishioners participate in Eucharistic Adoration, the more
will come to Sunday Mass and the more who will attend daily Mass. After
all, the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass is the Church's supreme act of
adoration. Eucharistic adoration “. . .enables the faithful to
experience the liturgical celebration more fully and more fruitfully.”
Pope Benedict XVI in Sacramentum Caritatis
A REMINDER: Our
Next Quarterly Meeting is scheduled for April 16, 2008, right after the 7:00
pm Mass. We will address a number of issues that will assist you in your
hour adoration. Please plan to attend.
News & Announcements:
We have a new email contact address for all Christ the Redeemer Adoration Business: adoration@ctrcc.com
Your Adoration Team has been busy trying to create not only an email account but also developing a Web page. It is currently under construction. We will post parish information, prayer suggestions, Catholic teachings. We will post schedules with password protection. (Thank you Karen Yost & Laura Lange.) We would like to hear from you, what kind of information do you find most helpful in your spiritual journey and prayer before the Blessed Sacrament. All comments are invited. This will be your website. Email those comments to adoration@ctrcc.com.
Our parish is blessed to have Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration, which is a constant vigil of prayer 7 days a week with permanent exposition of the Blessed Sacrament. And truly blessed to operate under the guidance and leadership of George Valdez, coordinator. As many of you know Bobbi Lund has joined the CTR Staff and will be the contact of adoration@ctrcc.com, she and George will disseminate information gathered from your emails to Division Leaders and Hourly Captains. Please keep this effort in your prayers. God bless us.
