St. Anne's Society

Ministry Purpose: St. Anne’s is a ministry for mothers of all ages providing opportunities to meet for spiritual, social and educational enrichment.  Meetings are typically held on the third Thursday of the month at 7PM.  In addition to monthly meetings, the society will host family events, parent/child outings, mother’s socials and much more.  Members will also have many opportunities to support our church family and the community beyond CtR through various social outreach endeavors.  It is our hope that through participation in St. Anne’s Society, members will be rewarded with friendships that will last a lifetime and spiritual nourishment for their journey through motherhood.
 

Monthly Meetings        Amy Palmisano - President; Kurstin Bodin – Programs; Sonya Thelen – Chaplain

    As you can see, we have set up a year full of interactive and inspirational fun at our general meetings.  We wanted this year to be focused on building our membership and cultivating friendships.  We have not forgotten spiritual nourishment…there will be a relevant scripture reflection and small group discussion at each meeting.  Some of the topics for this year include:

• Discipline

• Love and Marriage

• Family

• Faith

    We will be discussing our challenges and then sharing our successes and solutions.  If there is a topic you would like to see discussed let us know!  So that we can all enjoy adult fellowship, babysitting will be available at the general meetings for $5 a family (newborn and breastfeeding infants are welcome at meetings.)  Please notify us of your babysitting needs no later than the Tuesday prior to the meeting.  Questions?  Contact Amy at amypalmisano1@sbcglobal.net

Social Activities    Mindy Armstrong

    Outside of our regular monthly St. Anne's Society meetings, we will provide social opportunities for mothers including parent-child outings, moms-only socials, and family activities.  The schedule will be varied so everyone will have an opportunity to participate.  You decide what sounds fun and fits best into your schedule.  A few things in the works for this year include:

• Family Cookie Social

• Holy Family Feast Day Celebration

• Bunco Night

• Oil Ranch visit

• Wine Tasting

• Picnic ‘n Play

• Coffee Chat

• Date Night

• and many more…

Social Outreach    Maryann Mason

    Do you want to give back to the church and community but you are not sure how?  We will schedule and coordinate opportunities for you to do just that – keeping in mind you are all busy moms.  Here are a few ideas we have so far:

• CAM Food Drives

• Meals for Members with Newborns

• Meals for Members in Need (Illness, Bereavement, etc.)

• Habitat for Humanity

• Rebuilding Together – Houston

• RE Teacher Appreciation Dinner

• Child Advocates (Santa’s Wish List Volunteer)

Membership    Sarah Haeberle

    Interested in joining in the fun?  Simply complete the membership form, attach the annual membership fee of $25, and give it to a Membership Committee member.  Membership packets will be available at the general meetings or from a Membership Committee member.  We will be publishing a membership directory later this year so don’t delay!  Have a question about membership?  Contact Sarah at sehaeberle@comcast.net
