The Contemporary Ensemble is the music ministry for the 5 p.m. Sunday Contemporary Mass at Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church. We are here to share our talents and gifts to help lead the assembly to full, conscious, active, participation at Mass through our music. We are ministers of hospitality and leaders of prayer. We are not here to perform but to “pray the music” and worship with the people. With this charge, we must look and act like ministers of music.
This Ensemble is open to High School youth and adults. In addition to the vocals, we utilize many instruments, including, drums, brass, woodwinds, and string instruments.
Requirements: Desire to share music gifts and talents, and a commitment to rehearsals and Mass.
Rehearsals: 7-8:30 p.m. every Tuesday in the church.
Ensemble warm-up: 4 p.m. for the 5 p.m. Mass every Sunday in the church
The Contemporary Ensemble sings and plays every Sunday year-round.
