Katie has an extensive and diverse academic background and has spent much of her professional career working in Catholic Education.
Katie received her Bachelor of Social Work with a Minor in Religious Studies from Marywood University in 2002. She received her master's of Science in Student Personnel from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in 2004. Previously, she worked at Mount Saint Joseph Academy in Flourtown, Penn. as the Dean of Students. Most recently, she was the Director of Admissions
at St. Pius X High School in Houston.
She and her husband Jon moved to Houston nine years ago and quickly found Christ the Redeemer. “We fell in love with the community. Christ the Redeemer not only became our church, it became our home,” she said.
Katie and Jon have two young children, Gideon and Claire, both Christ the Redeemer Crusaders. Katie has been a member of St. Anne’s Society, volunteered with Friends in Need, Vacation Bible School and has taught Religious Education for grades 9, 7, 2 and Pre-K. She has also served as a team member on the Sacrament Preparation Team for elementary.
“My heart has always been pulled toward parish ministry and sacrament preparation. Working with our elementary and middle school students and families in this way feeds my spirit and renews my own faith journey, so when I was offered the coordinator position I couldn’t say no. I am excited and humbled to serve in this way,” she said.
Katie began working as Coordinator of Sacraments for Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church, then transitioned to Director of Advancement in Spring 2020.
