"God invites us into a relationship with Him that is both personal and communal. He speaks to us through His Son, Jesus Christ, the Word-made-flesh. Prayer is our response to God who is already speaking or, better yet, revealing Himself to us. Therefore, prayer is not merely an exchange of words, but it engages the whole person in a relationship with God the Father, through the Son, and in the Holy Spirit."-USCCB
Praying as a family strengthens families and helps form our children in the Catholic faith. Simple prayers at mealtimes and prayers before bed are great rituals to teach our children that God is in our lives every day. We are encouraged as Christians to grow our prayer life personally and communally. Adding new prayers or additional prayer time for you and your family will foster the growth of your relationship with God.
If you are looking for some insight as to how to start a new prayer routine, this article from the Grotto Network shared with us by our Director of Adult Discipleship, Camilla MacKenzie, offers some simple ideas and great reminders. Here is also a video from Camila on the Basics of Prayer.
